I am simply nuts about Christmas. The minute the Thanksgiving feast is over, I start dragging out those glorious boxes of treasure that reside in the crawl space beneath my basement stairs, boxes of ornaments, lights, trimmings, and our lovely Christmas tree—some assembly required. Yesterday Gary and I got it put together, lighted, ornamented and beaded while listening to the first 5 of the 50 or so holiday CD's that I play nonstop for the entire season. I'm willing to cut a little slack to the shopping malls who have to be all Christmased-up for the biggest shopping day of the year—people probably wouldn't line up 40 deep at 4 a.m. for that half-price whatnot if the stores weren't properly decked out, but there oughta' be a law against putting up residential Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving—some folks had their blow-up Santas and 6 foot snow globes and animated reindeer out in their yards two seconds after the Halloween pumpkins were stowed.
