... this afternoon, to conduct portfolio reviews and "auditions" for the Poppen Scholarship Art Program. Each candidate (grades 6 - 12) will have 30 minutes to draw a fairly challenging still-life. Then they will show examples of their recent art work, and will have an interview with the program director and me. If the applicant is deemed sufficiently talented, and seems to have a decent work ethic, he or she will be granted a coveted spot in the studio of one of three art teachers... one of whom is me... for the upcoming school year.
